Surrounding villas have served as a reference both when it comes to the volyme of the building and the surface treatment, as wella as our strive to create a homelike environment. Skansen

New buildings for the famous open-air museum Skansen. Invited competition entry.

When the Christmas sheds at Skansen were to be renovated, the management considered trading the traditional shed for modern versions.

Our proposition has taken note of the function that postulate that the shed can be taken out and then be stored awat fast and easily. We let ourselves be inspired by the trolleys at the supermarket and made them mobile by giving them wheels and stackable so that they  would not take to up to much space in storage.

Despite the modern appearance the sheds remain anchored in tradition through the use of timber and the traditional red paint.

Invited competition.

Storgatan

Apartment renovation, Stockholm. This appartment on Östermalm, Stockholm, went through a complete renovation. The great challenge was the bathroom with its narrow triangular planning and where our client wanted much storage space. To give the room a larger feeling we used big mirror surfaces and only white glazed tile. We created contrasts by chosing different finishes and sizes of the tiles - shiny mosaic contra big mat tiles. Storage was integrated in the walls by the washbasin and the bathtub. This was complemented by specially designed shelfs and cupboards. When we could not find the optimum sized washbasin that needed to be long and narrow, we had it made in marble. To benefit from the seaview in the back of the garden rooms for being together and a terrace has been placed on the second floor. A partly covered balcony that runs along the whole frontside of the house creates a close contact with the garden and gives the house its character. Villa M

Single-family house, Sollentuna No catalogue-houses worked on the long and narrow lot lined by two roads, and therefore the family turned to us. We got the question: How can we have a house that is aired and open but at the same time protected from insight? The answer was a long and narrow house body where the faces along the two roads have few windows while the other sides have big glas sections facing the garden. The house is made up of two volymes that are displaced in relaion to each other. The first part that you meet works as a screen for the rest of the house which in that way protects the rest of the house from both insight and wind.
